Dr. Kasthuri Henry, PhD, MBA, CTP, Six Sigma Black Belt
Dr. Kasthuri Henry is an experienced Chief Financial Officer and Financial Management Consultant with public and private sector acumen alongside teaching at the post secondary level. Kas earned her B.Sc. from Bangalore University (India) majoring in Computer Science, Math and Physics; earned her MBA from Indiana State University (USA) with an emphasis in Finance and Decision Sciences; earned her. PhD from Walden University, Minneapolis (USA), A Six Sigma Black Belt, Kas’ experiences include CFO at Chicago Teacher’s Pension Fund, Regional CFO at Aon Risk Services integrating US financial operations leveraging technology; Vice President of Continuous Improvement for the University Division at Career Education Corporation driving effective integration of ERM, Governance and Six-Sigma to continually improve the educational experience/outcome of students and thereby drive strategy-focused performance improvement; Sr. VP of Planning and Analysis at HSBC Consumer/Mortgage Lending; and global treasury consultant at Hospira Inc integrating transactional banking across Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Kas is also a Visiting Professor at Southern Illinois University Public Sector Management, DeVry/Keller Graduate School of Management and North Park University. She teachers Becker CPA program courses at DeVry and Keller Graduate School of Management to help prepare post secondary students for the CPA exams. She was invited to deliver the Ethics Key Note address at the IL Accounting Professor’s Annual Conference in 2014 and continues to partner with the educator group to Integrate technology and accounting in the classroom to better prepare students for a successful career in accounting in a socially responsible manner. Kas has been on various Advisory boards including the North Park University MBA Advisory Board and DeVry University Advisory Board.
Kas’ contribution at Aon Risk Services and dedication to education through various institutions was recognized by the Institute of Management Accountants, naming her the recipient of ‘Financial Executive of the Year Award 2006’ for the Mid-America region. Kas’ professional affiliations include Governmental Finance Officers Association (GFOA), Association of Financial Professionals (AFP), and Treasury Management Association of Chicago (TMAC); Civic affiliations include the Lion’s Club and Habitat for Humanity. A Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and International Public Safety Leadership Ethics Institute (IPSLEI) Certified Ethical Leadership instructor, she currently serves as faculty member for AFP continuing professional education, where she write curriculum and delivers webinars as well as workshops. As a member of the Executive Board of I am 4 Kids, Kas strives to facilitate the process of helping kids develop empowering identities. Kas is the recipient of the National Lybrand Award for her contribution to the financial strategy literature in recognition of her cutting edge consulting value proposition manuscript “Financial Agents for Change”. Kas recently received the “Award of Financial Reporting Achievement” from the Governmental Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for her achievements in FY 2015.
